Eric Schwartz bio at the International Intellectual Property Alliance® (IIPA®), the private sector coalition of seven U.S. trade associations that represent over 1,900 producers and distributors of copyrighted materials throughout the world. Matters include: business applications software; entertainment software on all platforms; theatrical films, television programs, home videos, and digital representations of audiovisual works; music, records, CDs, and audiocassettes; and textbooks, tradebooks, reference and professional publications and journals (in both electronic and print media). For the IIPA, he works on copyright matters in Russia, Ukraine and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Steven Metalitz and Eric Schwartz join MS&K

STEVEN METALITZ AND ERIC SCHWARTZ JOIN MITCHELL SILBERBERG & KNUPP'S WASHINGTON, D.C. OFFICE AS PARTNERS IN THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & TECHNOLOGY PRACTICE.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP announced today that leading intellectual property attorneys Steven J. Metalitz and Eric J. Schwartz have joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as partners.

Eric J. Schwartz also joins Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp from Smith & Metalitz. His practice includes traditional copyright and emerging electronic information and delivery issues, commercial transactions, domestic and international copyright law and policy matters, litigation strategy, and Copyright Office practices. Schwartz has served as Acting General Counsel for the United States Copyright Office and as Vice President and Special Counsel to the International Intellectual Property Alliance. He is also the founding Director and a Board member of the National Film Preservation Foundation, and serves as pro bono Counsel to the Library of Congress’ National Film Preservation Board. Schwartz is an Adjunct Professor of Copyright Law at Georgetown University Law School.
