AlgorithmWorks honors namesake Al-Khwārizmī
Al-Khwārizmī, Persian astronomer and mathematician, wrote in Arabic in 825 AD, on how to use digits and decimals (precursors of digital numbers - see algorism). Latin translation title of his book transmogrified to include his name was "Algoritmi de numero Indorum" (al-Daffa 1977) where "Algoritmi" was anglicized Latin transliteration of the author's name. Further research is required to determine if Al-Khwārizmī is related to Al Gore.
